Love’s early life was highly disturbed with her family being separated soon after her birth and followed by divorce of her parents. She had to spend her childhood days mostly in boarding schools and since she could not get the affection of parents; she turned wild and had to be given therapy for emotional and anger problems. She was constantly juggled between the homes of her step father, friends and various reform schools and inevitably, had to travel around the U.S, England and Ireland.

She pursued music and worked as a dancer in many venues. Her music career started as a lead singer of faith no more. She then went on to form bands with Bjelland but parted later on. Both of them started to wear prom dresses, dirty baby doll dresses, plastic hair clips, and smeared make up and ripped stockings.

Love had a liking for prom dress. In 1989, Courtney love taught her to play guitar and set out to form her own band. She, along with Erlandson founded Hole and is the only constant members through the bands history. Her marriage to Kurt Cobain was significant, as it faced stiff opposition from many sides.

Love and Cobain married in 1992 in Honolulu beach and as against a prom dress, love wore a satin and lace dress, once owned by the actress Frances farmer. But two years later, on April 8th Cobain was found killed by a self inflicted shotgun on his head.

She also won laurels for her role in the film the people vs Larry flint and received a golden globe nomination for best actress in a drama. After the disarray of Hole, love worked with photographer David lachapelle appearing on the cover of his book. Her first solo album, America’s sweet heart was released and it was a flop.

A series of health, legal and drug abuse cases haunted her and she lost around 20 million dollars to come out of this mess. Three months later, she recorded her second solo LP, no body’s daughter which was released world wide as a Hole album. Hole performed the late show with David Letterman on April 27th 2010, and Courtney love was interviewed. Though NME reported love had changed her name to Courtney Michelle, it was later denied. Courtney loves life is full of controversies but still she continues to hold the attention of her masses and her fans.

Shoes

Oh, how we love our shoes. It’s not just the stylish among us in this affair; even the most gothic-styled woman will adore and idolize a beloved pair of plaid, Chuck Taylor All Star Double Uppers. You don’t have to be ‘preppy’ to want a perfect shoe for your prom; as long as your prom shoe is comfortable the sky is the limit.

Sandals are a common but eccentrically lovely accent to your prom ‘look’. A pair with elegant strap-ups or a high wedge can make the lines of a symmetrically tailored gown flow beautifully. Ones that have a tall, stiletto heel will help make a flattering long, stimulating silhouette. A shorter cut gown offer a change for you to really pull out the stops on your footwear; platforms are an excellent choice for any dress higher than a mid-calf skirt.

Jewelry

Everyone thoughts are caught up in jewelry around prom time; even people that do not wear a lot of it on a regular basis want that added finishing look. The right jewelry will act to accentuate you and your gown, and it does not have to be a collar of diamonds to be exquisite.

When it comes to choosing your necklace you need to consider the neckline shape of your dress. Thankfully, your jewelry will follow the lines of your dress and as such, makes choosing a necklace or necklaces relatively simple; if your dress has a plunging neckline then you will want to choose a long necklace, but if it is high on the neck you will want a choker or other short necklace.

Jewelry is not only limited to neckwear as a hair styles can brings another opportunity for accessorizing. If you have your heart set on an up-do style then a sparkling tie or net can be worn. For a flowing hair design, hooped, large-studded or dangling earrings will add another elegant level to your prom style.

Don’t wait till the last minute

It’s important that you begin shopping for your prom dress as early as possible.  A beautiful and formal gown is not only important but also tends to be a more expensive item to purchase, requiring a lot of thought.  I most cases, it’s recommended that you give yourself several months of looking for your dress.  This gives you time to find a gown that is perfect for your taste, body type and style.

Waiting until the last minute can ultimately lead to an unsatisfactory choice.  It also leaves you no time to look around for the best deal or to make any necessary or wanted alterations.  This also gives you little to no time to choose or plan for your accessories.

Know the differences

Even a basic knowledge of basic formal gown styles can really go a long way when you’re looking for your ideal dress.  It is imperative that you at least learn the basic definition of the basic styles of dresses so you can understand how each can flatter or conceal different body types.

There are four basic styles of formal dresses: A-Line, Empire, Ball Gown and Sheath.

A-Line

An A-Line (or Princess-cut) gown is made to fit your form throughout the bodice, or torso, but flares out in an ‘A’ shape to form the skirt.  These dresses can disguise full hips and balance out the torso and bust.  They can also elongate your figure, making you look slimmer and taller.

Empire

The Empire style of gown has a high waistline that generally begins just below the bodice line.  It’s long, full skirt can hide a pear-shaped or thick-waisted figure and gives the illusion of height on a short or petite body style.

Ball Gown

The cut of the ball gown style dress’s most notable characteristic is the very full skirt that flows out from the waist all the way to the floor.  The seamed natural waist can be customized or styled in many different variations.  This style of dress visually separates the torso and the lower half of the body, providing pleasing lines.

Sheath

A sheath-style gown is a slim dress that doesn’t use a lot of fabric or seaming details.  It hugs the curves and shape of the body to provide a thin silhouette.  This type of dress is perfect for a well-toned or svelte body type.  They are especially lovely on taller and thinner figures.
