Your prom date is approaching and you wonder where to begin.  Here are a few pointers and tips to help both the guys and the gals.

Guys

• The Tux. Have it tailored to fit right.  Find a shop that deals with tuxedo rentals and has a good reputation.  Have the tailor show you a few choices and measure you properly.  A well fitting tux will make you more comfortable when you’re dancing and make you look just as fantastic as she does.
• Transportation. If you have access to a car, make sure you it’s cleaned out, vaccumed, and washed.  Arriving at your date’s home with a presentable car will show her (and her family) that you took time to care.
• The Gift.  A corsauge is still a nice gift, but you may also wish to present your date wish something special.  A sweetheart necklace or bracelette will make her smile.

Party Tips

It’s a night to remember, so be sure to follow these last few tips, to make sure you can enjoy these memories for a lifetime.

• Drinking.  There is a lot of pressure to drink at these events.  Age limit aside, be smart and careful.  Drinking and driving kills young people each year at this time.  Proms are a time to celebrate, its true, but please be responsible.
• Sex and Romance. If you have considered this as part of your romantic night, please consider the safety measures you will need to take.  To be with someone you love is a choice, it’s true, but it is not a rule that you ‘have to’ be intimate on prime night.  A romantic walk can be very special, without the fear of committing to something you’re not yet ready for.

On your prom night be all you can be.  Chic, cool, beautiful, and above all responsible.  Make memories that will last a lifetime and leave nothing to regret.  Have fun and be safe.
